Outreach and Program Assistant

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Outreach and Programs Assistant to join the team. This position will support members of the Outreach team by assisting with educational and advocacy efforts.  This position will support members of the Program team by assisting in the planning and execution of the USGLC’s small- and large-scale events in over 30 states across the country, as well as special signature events, including the Impact Forum and Tribute Celebration, among others.  The position will report to Brynn MacDougall (Deputy Program Director) and Jeremy Tolbert (Deputy National Outreach Director). The Outreach & Program Assistant is a non-exempt position and is based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning & Logistics Management – Support the Program Team in managing logistics for field-based events by handling venue outreach and booking, catering and audio/visual needs, speaker preparation, recruitment and organizational coordination. Communicate directly with event vendors to make advance arrangements for events. Coordinate and ship all printed and digital materials for field-based events.
  • Event Execution – Assist the Program and Outreach Teams in executing programs with advance support, on-site event support, virtual event support, and event follow-up. Events include field-based events and signature annual events, including the Global Impact Forum among others.
  • Outreach Support – Assist and support the regional field Directors in educational and advocacy efforts in specified states. This includes assisting in identification and recruitment of influential business, civic, military, academic and faith-based leaders to support USGLC’s efforts.
  • Other duties assigned will be based on the needs of the Program and Outreach Teams.

Position Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent amount of experience in a similar function in lieu of educational qualifications.
  • Professional or volunteer experience in event planning or outreach experience.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required.
  • Interest in foreign policy is a plus; a passion for the organization’s mission is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, expertise working with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, as well as virtual event and meeting platforms, such as Zoom, MS Teams, Cisco Webex, etc.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected and encouraged.
  • Frequent domestic travel is expected.

Compensation

A projected salary range of $42,000-$45,000 will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The USGLC also provides a package of benefits, including health and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid annual and sick leave and federal holidays.
