Finance Manager

We are seeking a part-time, exempt Finance Manager to join our Finance and Administration Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger accounting, processing accounts payable, reconciling accounts, and related administrative functions within established internal controls. Must be professional, courteous, organized, and detail-oriented. This part-time position is expected to be 24 hours per week and will function on a hybrid schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, organize, and prepare invoices for weekly payment disbursements.
  • Organize and maintain disbursement files electronically with proper back up.
  • Review travel expense reports for accuracy.
  • Reconciliation of corporate credit card accounts.
  • Data entry of cash receipts and maintenance of proper back up.
  • General ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with maintenance of fixed assets and relevant schedules.
  • Ensure and maintain accounting controls at all times.
  • Manage all institutional subscriptions – print and electronic.
  • Assist with digitizing, filing, organizing and maintenance of finance and administration files.
  • Assist with the annual independent audit.
  • Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures manuals as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • College degree preferred but adequate experience may be substituted for educational qualifications. Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent math skills with the ability to analyze data and spot numerical errors.
  • Must pass a general background check
  • Handle confidential and sensitive matters with high level of integrity.
  • Familiar with GAAP.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Must have strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Must understand basic office technology – hardware and software.
  • Exceptional customer service – internal and external.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks; MS Office products – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
