As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Tillis directly advocates for North Carolina’s rich military tradition, our veterans, and men and women currently in uniform. Senator Tillis also sits on the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, Judiciary Committee, and the Senate Special Committee on Aging. Tillis spent 22 years working as a top-level executive at PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM before transitioning into a career in government. His time in the private sector provided him with a deep understanding of policy-making and the management of complex organizations.
Governor Pat McCrory was sworn in as governor of North Carolina in January 2013. Prior to serving as governor, he was elected mayor of Charlotte in 1995 and went on to serve a record seven terms. He also received a presidential appointment to the Homeland Security Advisory Committee. Governor McCrory earned degrees in education and political science from Catawba College and resides in Charlotte with his wife, Ann, and their dog, Mo.
General Conway served as the 34th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps from 2006-2010, leading over 250,000 active duty, reserve, and civilian personnel throughout the United States and overseas. A 40-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, General Conway served in a number of leadership positions across his distinguished career, including commanding general of 1st Marine Expeditionary Force during the Iraq War. General Conway is a member of the Marine Corps University Foundation’s board of trustees. He is also a member of USGLC’s National Security Advisory Council.
Sarah Thorn is Senior Director of Federal Government Relations at Walmart. Ms. Thorn’s work includes legislative initiatives and trade negotiations for Walmart’s retail and distribution rights overseas. She is primarily responsible for international trade and investment issues. Previously, she worked at the Grocery Manufacturers Association. Ms. Thorn also serves as Vice-Chair of the USGLC.
David Brody is the Chief Political Correspondent for CBN News. He writes a political blog titled The Brody File, and is also a political contributor to Glenn Beck’s GBTV network. David appears regularly on FOX News, CNN and MSNBC, and has been a roundtable panelist on NBC’s Meet The Press. David has worked as News Director at ABC affiliate KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has produced special projects, stories, and shows in the major markets of Washington, D.C., (WUSA-TV) and Denver (KUSA-TV). He joined CBN News in 2003.
