USGLC Strengthens Leadership Team with Former Senior Government and Faith-Based Humanitarian Leaders

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) today announced two key additions to its senior leadership team: Richard Parker as Senior Policy Advisor, where he now leads the Coalition’s engagement with the Executive Branch and other influential stakeholders; and Michele Sumilas as National Engagement Director, where she leads the Coalition’s strategic outreach with stakeholders across the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome two extraordinary public servants who bring decades of driving transformational efforts in government, non-profits, and faith-based organizations to strengthen America’s global leadership,” said USGLC President and CEO Liz Schrayer. “They join an exceptional senior leadership team that for the past 30 years has built a powerful nationwide coalition of military, non-profit, business, farmer, and faith leaders united by a shared belief that America wins when we invest in strategic international assistance and effective humanitarian assistance, both critical to advancing our nation’s prosperity, and values.”

Parker joins USGLC after serving as the Assistant Administrator for the Bureau of Legislative & Public Affairs at the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He also served as Vice President of External Affairs at Food for the Hungry, a Christian humanitarian aid and development organization. He returns to USGLC after previously serving as the Communications Director.

Sumilas comes to USGLC after serving as the Acting Deputy Administrator for Management and Resources at the U.S. Agency for International Development, where she previously served as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff. She also served as Executive Director of Bread for the World, a non-partisan Christian advocacy organization dedicated to ending hunger, and as a Professional Staff Member on the House Appropriations Committee.
