USGLC CEO on Russian Invasion of Ukraine

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) President and CEO, Liz Schrayer, released the following statement on the developments overnight in Ukraine:

As we witness what feels like the Cold War emerging from its grave, we stand with the people of Ukraine and condemn this unprovoked invasion and attack on democracy. It is horrific moments like these that underscore why America must continue to work with our allies and leverage our full diplomatic, economic, and security toolkit.

This is clearly a time when politics must stop at the water’s edge – and why we are pleased to see bipartisan efforts already underway in Congress and within the Administration to support humanitarian operations, democracy, and refugees who are now on the move. As the situation unfolds, it will be critical to ensure we utilize our economic and development tools – working with our NATO allies – to continue to meet the needs of the Ukrainian people and neighboring countries.

Our hearts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine and ensuring the safety of our USGLC members and partners. The USGLC stands ready to help bring the power of our network in support of these efforts, knowing this global conflict directly impacts our democratic values and America’s economic and security interests.
