USGLC CEO Applauds Final Passage of National Security Emergency Funding Package

WASHINGTON, DC – The USGLC President and CEO Liz Schrayer released the following statement on final passage of the national security emergency funding package, which includes $26.8 billion in critical international affairs resources:

Passing with overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate, the USGLC applauds the strong bipartisan, bicameral support for these essential national security emergency resources.

These votes send an unequivocal message to our adversaries and our allies around the world. At a time when Russia, Iran, and China are increasingly coordinated against our interests, we must ensure our nation is stopping threats before they reach our shores. This emergency funding to support Ukraine, Israel, and partners in the Indo-Pacific and around the world – including essential economic and humanitarian assistance – could not be more significant for protecting American families.

We commend the bipartisan champions in both chambers who helped drive these packages forward to final passage as well as the President and his Administration. Because simply put, it’s squarely in America’s national security interests.
