OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Today, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) hosted a community conversation with Senator James Lankford (R-OK), titled “America and the World: How Oklahoma Wins.” In front of a packed room of more than 350 Oklahomans, with over 10K more tuning-in online, Senator Lankford said, “We should engage because there are billions of people that are counting on America being America and exporting our greatest export: Freedom.”
“At a time when many lawmakers are being shouted down at town halls, it was incredible to witness the respect Senator Lankford garners from his constituents, who came together for a civil conversation about why American leadership in the world isn’t just important—it’s urgent,” said USGLC President and CEO Liz Schrayer. “The Senator leads with conviction, grounded in his faith and values, and we’re deeply grateful for his steadfast leadership and expertise on America’s national security, and his commitment to leveraging all the tools of national power at such a critical time.”
The Senator was joined on stage for a wide-ranging conversation alongside two panelists: Robert “Bob” Zachritz of World Vision and Lt. General Stephen M. Speakes, U.S. Army (Ret.), to answer wide-ranging questions—from Ukraine to tariffs—and emphasize how smart investments in development and diplomacy not only reflect American values—but directly support Oklahoma’s economy and security.
From $6.5 billion in Oklahoma exports last year to more than 436,000 local jobs supported by international trade, the discussion emphasized a powerful takeaway: when America leads globally, Oklahoma wins locally. Hear from the local leaders and tune in to watch the full event here:
