Richard Lugar, Howard Berman, and Robert Zoellick Join USGLC Advisory Council

Council a Who’s Who of Cabinet Members, Lawmakers, Foreign Policy Leaders

Washington, DC—The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition today announced that Senator Richard Lugar, Congressman Howard Berman, and former World Bank President and Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick are joining its National Advisory Council, which is chaired by Colin Powell and includes every living former Secretary of State as members.

“Richard Lugar, Howard Berman, and Robert Zoellick have been avid supporters of the International Affairs Budget and the importance of global development and diplomacy throughout their distinguished careers,” said Executive Director Liz Schrayer.  “We look forward to having their leadership and expertise at USGLC as we continue to promote is the importance of U.S. global engagement to our national security and economic prosperity.”

Known as the “coalition of strange bedfellows,” the USGLC brings together corporations and non-governmental organizations from Caterpillar to CARE, Walmart to World Vision, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to Save the Children, along with a distinguished group of bipartisan leaders, all dedicated to enhancing our civilian-led tools of development and diplomacy in promoting our nation’s interests in the world.
