Anne Witkowsky is the Assistant Secretary of State for Conflict and Stabilization Operations.

Witkowsky previously served as Co-Director of the Task Force on U.S. Strategy to Support Democracy and Counter Authoritarianism and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Stability and Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy at the Pentagon.

On U.S. Global Leadership: Speaking at an Atlantic Council Witkowsky addressed the international response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, “this epidemic is not something from which the United States is going to be able to isolate itself. And it underscored what we knew already, the need for a concerted and coordinated U.S. government, international and private sector response. It has become all the more urgent.
