WASHINGTON – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition President and CEO, Liz Schrayer, released the following statement as the Senate Banking Committee convenes tomorrow:
As the Senate considers nominations for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the USGLC stands committed to the importance of this essential U.S. agency that has boosted America’s economy, helping small and medium-sized companies from all 50 states compete in the global marketplace for more than 80 years.
Strong leadership at Ex-Im that will embrace and elevate the critical role this agency plays in advancing America’s interests throughout the world is essential to creating jobs here at home. With every other major trading nation having an export credit agency, Ex-Im helps level the playing field and enables the U.S. to remain competitive with countries like China and we urge policymakers to continue to support this vital agency.
The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (www.usglc.org) is a broad-based influential network of 500 businesses and NGOs; national security and foreign policy experts; and business, faith-based, academic, military, and community leaders in all 50 states who support strategic investments to elevate development and diplomacy alongside defense in order to build a better, safer world.
