USGLC CEO on Addressing Racism in America

WASHINGTON – The President and CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, Liz Schrayer, released the following statement:

As an organization dedicated to building a better, safer world, our commitment to upholding the values of democracy, justice, and equality is just as important at home as it is abroad.

These past few weeks have profoundly reinforced the reality of the injustice and inequalities that Black Americans still endure – from those who have been killed on our streets to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19. It requires our collective responsibility to confront the scourge of racism, discrimination, and intolerance everywhere, and we remain dedicated to this pursuit.

The strength of all Americans to listen to one another and – most importantly – to come together to take action is what will ultimately lead to justice.

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (www.usglc.org) is a broad-based influential network of 500 businesses and NGOs; national security and foreign policy experts; and business, faith-based, academic, military, and community leaders in all 50 states who support strategic investments to elevate development and diplomacy alongside defense in order to build a better, safer world.
