Richard Crespin Joins USGLC as Director of Business Outreach

Washington, DC —Corporate Social Responsibility expert Richard Crespin has joined the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition as Director of Business Outreach, overseeing the USGLC’s efforts to engage the business community in educating Americans about the important role international affairs programs play in strengthening emerging markets for U.S. goods and services and creating jobs here at home, as well as keeping our nation secure and demonstrating our finest values as Americans.

“Richard is a nationally recognized business expert who understands not just corporate responsibility, but also corporate opportunity, and we are excited to have his talents and expertise at USGLC as we work with the business community to demonstrate how U.S. engagement in our world today is good for business here at home,” said USGLC Executive Director Liz Schrayer.

Prior to joining USGLC, Crespin served as the Executive Director of the Corporate Responsibility Officers Association and as President of SharedXpertise Media, the publishers of Corporate Responsibility Magazine. Crespin has worked across the private, public, and civil sectors, including with some of the world’s largest financial institutions, the American Red Cross, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Department of Defense. Richard is an alumnus of both the George Washington University and the Harvard Business School. He also currently serves as a Senior Fellow for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, on the Board of Advisors for the CROA, on the Editorial Board of the Sustainable Business Forum, and on the Board of Directors for the Society for International Development.

“American businesses know the fastest growing economies in the world are in developing countries, and increasing our presence in these emerging markets is a surefire way to grow our own economy and create quality jobs across the country. I look forward to working with businesses in building even stronger support for America’s tools of development and diplomacy,” said Crespin.

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (www.usglc.org) is a broad-based influential network of 400 businesses and NGOs; national security and foreign policy experts; and business, faith-based, academic and community leaders in all 50 states who support a smart power approach of elevating development and diplomacy alongside defense in order to build a better, safer world.
