International Affairs Budget an Outstanding Investment for American Taxpayers

Washington, DC —The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition released this statement from USGLC Chair Emeritus George Ingram on Secretary Kerry’s remarks on the International Affairs Budget:

“Secretary Kerry has seen our diplomatic and development programs up close and knows first-hand the power of the one percent investment the U.S. makes in the International Affairs Budget.  It’s a cost-effective way to protect our national security, grow our economy, and demonstrate our finest values as Americans.

“We are grateful Secretary Kerry is taking time to talk about what really works—Bringing stability to countries so we don’t have to send in our brave men and women in uniform, working with countries to create better environments for American business, and saving millions of lives through our vaccinations and HIV/AIDS treatments.

“Americans can be proud of the work our diplomats and development experts do around the world every day.  Our country is safer and better for it.”
