Virtual Town Hall | Fighting Fentanyl: How Local Mayors Can Solve a Global Crises
Past Event Description:
Fentanyl overdoses have tragically become the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-49 for the last five years. From precursor chemicals originating in China, to production and narco-traffickers in Mexico, to demand for drugs on American streets, the spread of fentanyl is a global challenge that can only be solved through whole-of-government and whole-of-society solutions. Join Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor Jen Daskal for a conversation hosted in partnership by the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) and the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) on how local governments, in coordination with federal agencies, can help curb the opioid crisis in the United States and around the world.
