Condoleezza Rice Joins USGLC Advisory Council

November 16, 2009 By Richard Parker

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has joined all of the other eight living former secretaries of state as a member of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Advisory Council.  Dr. Rice is currently the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, where she is also a professor of political science.

The USGLC looks forward to her advice and counsel in advocating for a more robust International Affairs Budget and in educating Americans about the importance of elevating development and diplomacy and engagement with the world.

As Dr. Rice said last year, “For the United States, supporting international development is more than just an expression of our compassion. It is a vital investment in the free, prosperous, and peaceful international order that fundamentally serves our national interest.”

Other former secretaries of state on the USGLC Advisory Council are Madeleine Albright, James Baker, Warren Christopher, Lawrence Eagleburger, Alexander Haig, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell, and George Shultz.
