Michele currently serves as the National Engagement Director of the USGLC, after providing stellar service to the organization as part of our campaign surge efforts. Prior to joining, Michele served as USAID’s Acting Deputy Administrator for Management and Resources, ensuring alignment of operations and resources with policy and development priorities. Earlier, as the Assistant to the Administrator of the Bureau for Planning, Learning and Resource Management (PLR), she provided the Agency’s policy voice and leadership in interagency forums to better align budgetary considerations, planning processes, implementation discipline, and monitoring and evaluation with development and humanitarian priorities.
Previously, Michele served as Executive Director of Bread for the World, an anti-hunger Christian advocacy organization as well as at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Global Health Council. Her prior government experience includes serving as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff for USAID, and as staff to the House Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations. She attended Mount Holyoke College and received a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a proud parent of two boys, Thomas and John, and enjoys spending the weekend with her husband as empty nesters.
