Dan Coats

Serves as principal advisor to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council about intelligence matters related to national security. He also heads the sixteen-member Intelligence Community and directs and oversees the National Intelligence Program.

Senator Dan Coats is the nation’s fifth Director of National Intelligence. As the head of America’s Intelligence Community, Senator Coats oversees U.S. intelligence operations and serves as the principal intelligence advisor to President Trump. For over 25 years, Senator Coats represented the State of Indiana in Congress and served in the George W. Bush administration as U.S. Ambassador to Germany.
