Oversees all funding for defense, intelligence, international affairs, and veterans’ programs across the federal government.
Previously, Robert Blair was Staff Director of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, a position he held from 2014 to January of 2017. Notably, Mr. Blair was a Professional Staff Member for the House State-Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee from 2003 to 2008, where he oversaw migration and refugee assistance, international health funding, and issues pertaining to Africa, among other matters. He served as the Regional Advisor for Africa at the State Department’s Office of International Health Affairs from 2001 to 2003. In this role, he advised on and implemented health policy, particularly focusing on HIV/AIDS. Mr. Blair is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, serving in the Central African Republic from 1994 to 1996 where he focused on sustainable agriculture.
