Government Relations Assistant

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking a detail-oriented professional for the position of Government Relations Assistant. The Government Relations Assistant will join a talented and high-performing team responsible for USGLC’s outreach to Capitol Hill on the importance of America’s global leadership and a strong and effective International Affairs Budget. The position will report to the Director of Government Relations and is based in Washington, DC once the organization returns from the remote work environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administrative and Data Support. Responsibilities include:
    • Track USGLC interactions with Members of Congress
    • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and calendars via Outlook and Quorum
    • Lead data-collection and data-entry of Congressional engagements on behalf of Government Relations and Outreach Teams
  • Research and Analysis. Responsibilities include:
    • Research and report on relevant interests, legislative actions, and activities by Members of Congress
    • Draft documents for internal and external use, including event summaries, hearing memos, and Capitol Hill correspondence
    • Analyze data to find trends and chart progress in achieving USGLC goals and objectives
  • Advocacy and Engagement with Congress. Responsibilities include:
    • Work with Government Relations teammates to maintain relationships with Congressional offices
    • Monitor Congressional hearings and events
    • Assist with advocacy days and events featuring Members of Congress

Position Requirements:

Attention to detail is a must. Strong knowledge of Excel and some experience with database management are preferred. Background in government relations, including knowledge of Capitol Hill is a plus.

Compensation
