Development Assistant


The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is seeking an energetic Development Assistant to support our Development Team. The Assistant will support the organization’s fundraising efforts with a focus on membership cultivation, solicitation stewardship and donor records management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and be committed to building and cultivating meaningful external and internal relationships. This position will be based in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Donor Stewardship

  • Assist in managing the membership portfolio, prospect pipelines and track membership deliverables.
  • Support the Development Team in various membership responsibilities including donor research and outreach and preparing briefing materials.

Fundraising Support

  • Administrative duties including maintaining fundraising records in the database and maintaining up to date fundraising materials and membership lists on the organizations’ website.
  • Manage gift contribution analysis, processing, and data entry procedures to determine appropriate designations, donors and amounts.
  • Organize and maintain the integrity of record keeping and filing systems.

VIP Events

  • Help implement the organization’s VIP events, including recruiting member participants and stewarding donors.
  • Play a key role in fundraising and benefit management at the organization’s annual gala dinner. Help grow and enhance annual dinner by diversifying funding and working with participants.
  • Support the Development Team with Board of Directors meetings and preparation of relevant materials as needed.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have minimum of a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent amount of experience in a similar function in lieu of educational qualifications. The position requires 1-2 years of fundraising experience, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
