Communications Project Manager

The US Global Leadership Coalition is seeking a Communications Project Manager to support a growing, fun, and active communications department. The primary function of this role is to actively engage with interdepartmental stakeholders as the primary communications team liaison, to drive and create content and visuals to amplify USGLC and partner messaging through written communications, video and voice across numerous content sharing platforms. This position works collaboratively with the Communications Team and reports to the Deputy Director of Communications.

Primary responsibilities for this additional scope include:

  • Partnership Engagement – Collaborate with the development team to create content for donor communications and partnership engagement on our issues utilizing videos, voice and written formats. Must steer the process from creation through distribution.
  • Outreach & Event Communications – Work collaboratively with the Outreach and Programs Teams to engage USGLC communities through social media platforms. Manage all event-related communications efforts, including email marketing approval, management of state-based press engagement strategy; coordinating social amplification of all events, and developing additional event amplification opportunities to tell the USGLC story, including video creation.
  • Affinity Group Communications – work collaboratively with various USGLC affinity groups and programs to create and amplify content for group such as Veterans for Smart Power, Farmers for Prosperity, the Heartland Hub and Next Generation. Other Projects – In collaboration with the Communications Team, assist in managing top quality deliverables on time utilizing a project management system. Other tasks assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, stakeholder support, and working with outside vendors. Experience with international relations preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in creative storytelling, including assisting with video production.
  • Strong, crisp writing skills.
  • Strong communications project management skills with the ability to multitask with attention to detail and quality.
  • Knowledge of event production and how communications can factor into a pre- and post-event plan.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, political science or related field or equivalent experience.
