Funding Levels in House Foreign Affairs Authorization Bill Protect America’s Global Leadership

USGLC Applauds Bipartisan Leadership of House Foreign Affairs Committee

Washington, DC — The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) released the following statement from Government Relations Director Tod Preston commending the funding levels contained in the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s FY13 Foreign Relations Authorization Act (H.R. 6018):

“I join our entire coalition in applauding Chairwoman Ros-Lehtinen and her Republican and Democratic colleagues for heeding the calls of America’s top military and business leaders to ensure strong funding for the State Department and International Affairs programs.  The Foreign Relations Authorization Act reflects a strong bipartisan recognition that the stakes are far too high for America to retreat from its leadership in the world.  The Committee’s bipartisan action today, with the strong support of Ranking Member Berman, says loud and clear that funding for the State Department is vital for America’s national interests.”
