USGLC Expresses Deep Gratitude for Life and Service of Secretary Frank Carlucci

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition President and CEO Liz Schrayer released the following statement on the passing of Frank Carlucci:

The USGLC joins the rest of the nation in mourning the loss of a national treasure, Frank Carlucci. Frank championed, embodied, and demonstrated throughout his career the power of America’s civilian tools working alongside our military. He was instrumental in launching USGLC’s bipartisan National Advisory Council believing deeply in the need to give voice to the importance of development and diplomacy.

When he spoke for USGLC, which he did often, he would draw from examples not only from his time as Secretary of Defense – but instead from tales of as a diplomat, believing in civilian solutions first to solving global challenges.

He was quick to remind all that “If America is to truly support our servicemen and women, we must do all we can to pursue development programs and diplomatic solutions before a conflict breaks out.”

Our entire coalition is grateful for his life of service and his commitment to American global leadership. America has lost one of its luminaries.

Frank Carlucci served as a member of the USGLC’s National Advisory Council since its establishment in 2004.
