Congress Returns Next Week with Full Agenda

July 2, 2009 – Congress returns next week following the July 4th recess with a full appropriations agenda.  On Friday, July 10th, the full House is expected to consider the $48.8 billion FY10 State, Foreign Operations Appropriations bill, which represents the largest component of the International Affairs Budget.  The bill is $3.2 billion below the President’s request and $1.2 billion below present spending.  The Senate Appropriations Committee is also expected to mark up its version of the bill when in returns from recess.
