USGLC in New Hampshire in Action On November 8, 2007, the USGLC hosted a forum at Saint Anselm College with Presidential candidates Governor Bill Richardson and Senator Joseph Biden. Republican former Vice Presidential candidate and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Jack Kemp and four-star General (Ret.) and former White House drug czar Barry McCaffrey also joined for the launch of Impact ’08 in New Hampshire: Building a Better, Safer World. Kemp challenged all of the Republican and Democratic candidates, saying, “The next President needs a foreign policy which demonstrates American strength on all fronts – economic, diplomatic and military. Greater investments in global development and diplomacy will keep America safer, grow our economy, and demonstrate our humanitarian values as a nation.” McCaffrey told the audience: “We cannot rely on the military alone for our national security. America needs to project “smart power” – strategically integrating development assistance, diplomacy and defense.” Members of New Hampshire Delegation who signed the FY11 Budget Letter to President Obama
