The Government Relations department at the USGLC is the vital link between our diverse coalition and Capitol Hill. This department is responsible for analyzing the political atmosphere in Congress with respect to the International Affairs Budget by breaking down crucial hearings and political agendas of key players in the IAB circuit. The staff focuses on devising how to most effectively gain advocates in Congress whom support a strong and effective International Affairs Budget.
- Monitor Congressional proceedings on the International Affairs Budget and report on key bills, resolutions and hearings
- Help prepare for meetings with members of Congress and their staff
- Attend events on Capitol Hill, including briefings, hearings, and receptions
- Research voting histories and positions of members of Congress on the International Affairs Budget
A strong candidate will be familiar with the inner workings of our political process and appreciate the nuances of governing. Hill experience is a plus.
