In case you missed some of the news coverage on the USGLC State Leaders Summit and Tribute Dinner, here are some of the stories and interviews that feature our fantastic leaders from across the country:

  • Bill Theobald has a great piece in USA Today on the, “several hundred leaders from 27 states who [came to] Washington to attend the annual state leaders summit of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.”
  • Our friends over at Politico included a fun blurb about our 20th Annual Tribute Dinner last week, noting, “Among the attendees were Rep. Kay Granger, USGLC CEO Liz Schrayer and Executive Director Will Davis, One Campaign CEO Michael Elliott, Rep. David Cicilline, Rep. Ruben Gallego, Admiral Mike Mullen; Deputy Secretary of State Heather Higginbottom, and former Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman.”
  • Dean Gorder, the executive director of the North Dakota Trade Association, was featured in the Grand Forks Herald, where he said, “That 1 percent of the U.S. budget does an incredible amount of groundwork, which then allows us to trade with various countries.
  • Former Senator Johanns, one of our keynote speakers, got some press in the Omaha World-Herald, which noted, “Former Sen. Mike Johanns warned Tuesday about the temptations and dangers of isolationism… The Nebraska Republican spoke as part of a panel discussion at a U.S. Global Leadership Coalition summit.”
  • Senators Corker and Coons both received some very positive attention from The Chattanoogan, The Greenville Sun and the Knoxville News Sentinel for being honored at this year’s USGLC Tribute Dinner.
  • Retired Army Brig. Gen. John Adams of Florida got a fantastic write-up in the Pensacola News Journal (plus a really good picture). “’Having non-governmental organizations provide services to underdeveloped countries is the most effective way to reduce conflict and preserve peace,’ said Adams, president of Guardian Six LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business that navigates the defense marketplace.”
