A billion people around the world don’t have access to safe drinking water. Many people in developing countries walk miles a day to reach water. Even then, the water they bring home can carry water-borne diseases like malaria and schistosomiasis.

The Solution

The Coca-Cola Company is partnering with DEKA R&D to bring clean water to Africa and Latin America using a low-power filter called a Slingshot that boils and distills dirty water. One machine can provide enough water for 300 people a day.
