Wendy Sherman leads America’s public diplomacy outreach, which includes communications with international audiences, cultural programming, academic grants, educational exchanges, international visitor programs, and U.S. government efforts to confront ideological support for terrorism. Prior to this position, Sherman was the vice chair of the Albright Stonebridge Group, and was counselor to Secretary of State Madeline Albright, where she also held the role of North Korean Policy Coordinator. She also served as Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs from 1993 to 1996 under Secretary of State Warren Christopher. She was also chair of the Board of Directors of Oxfam America and served on the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Policy Board. As of 9/19/11
