Last week Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Chief Executive Officer Daniel Yohannes issued a statement outlining his strategic vision for MCC, explaining his plans to  internally realign MCC to support the agency’s priorities. A primary reason for MCC’s success is our focus on one, well-defined mission: reducing poverty through economic growth,” Dr. Yohannes said.  The plan identifies five priorities: 1) A renewed focus on results; 2) Increasing MCC’s use of new partnerships and new financing structures; 3) Emphasizing effective policy reform; 4) Strengthening MCC’s focus on gender and social assessment; and 5) Improving organizational effectivness. Beginning Aug. 1st, the MCC will combine its Departments of Compact Development and Compact Implementation into single Department of Compact Operations.  It will also create a new division for Risk Management to focus on innovation, headed up by Frances Reid, currently Deputy Vice-President for compact implementation.
