As USGLC reported in our Budget Update on Friday, the FY 2011 appropriations process is getting underway, and action on the International Affairs Budget is scheduled this week in the House. On Wednesday afternoon, the House State-Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee will markup its FY 2011 spending bill.  With House Appropriations Chairman Obey announcing last week that all the spending bills would be funded at levels below the President’s request, the $58.8 billion request for the International Affairs Budget is under significant pressure.  This week, the House is also hoping to pass the FY 2010 supplemental and the one-year budget deeming measure.
