USGLC National Security Advisory Council Co-Chairs Adm. James M. Loy and Gen. Michael Hagee appeared yesterday on “This Week in Defense,” to discuss how important U.S. foreign assistance is to our national security and why Congress should restore the Senate Budget Committee’s recent cut of $4 billion from the International  Affairs Budget. The military leaders drew on their personal experiences in talking about how our civilian and military operations should work together, with Loy saying, “The reality here is that in the post 9-11 world, the security world we’re still trying to understand, let alone live in, the collaborative efforts of all the elements of influence the United States has to muster has to be put in a package deal around the world to allow us to do what we need to do.”
