Support for the International Affairs Budget was highlighted last week with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the NGO community both sending letters to Budget Committee leaders in support of the President’s $58.5 billion request for FY 2011.  But with all hands on deck for health care this week on Capitol Hill, crucial budget debates, most notably action on the FY 2011 Budget resolution, have been moved until after the Easter recess.  Both the House and Senate Budget Committees may begin mark-ups of the budget resolutions as early as the second week of April.

Peace Corps Director Aaron Williams will testify Thursday before the House State, Foreign Ops Appropriations Subcommittee on the Peace Corps budget, which includes an 11% ($46 million) increase from current levels.
