Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is on a tour of the Middle East right now and spoke on Sunday at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Qatar about the importance of engagement as a foreign-policy tool. “[E]ngagement is not new to the United States. It has been important throughout our history. A strong relationship between our country and many others is a hallmark of what we believe is essential to global security, prosperity, and peace.” The Secretary is now in Saudi Arabia.

In other news, the Cable is reporting that Jim Greene is the new deputy vice president for policy at the Millennium Challenge Corporation—he formerly worked for Vice President Biden at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Greene will report to Sheila Herrling, who was recently named Vice President for Policy and International Relations at MCC.
