The business community understands the importance of a robust International Affairs Budget, as evidenced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s support for the FY11 Letters to the President circulating on the Hill right now. In their endorsement letter to Congress, the U.S. Chamber stated, “American businesses understand that diplomacy and development assistance play vital roles in building economic prosperity, protecting national security, and promoting America’s humanitarian values…At a time when trade is providing a lifeline to the U.S. economy, these international programs are more important than ever.” With nearly 60 signatures already on the letters, support for a robust International Affairs Budget continues to grow.
