Although it’s still looking like the State, Foreign Operations Appropriations bill will be rolled into an Omnibus bill in December, a revised House calendar for the remainder of the year holds the possibility that an Omnibus wouldn’t be needed. In fact, the House could be in session until nearly Christmas Eve, according to media reports. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) outlined the new schedule yesterday, saying he is prepared to keep the House working until Dec. 22. Hoyer’s move follows Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) decision late Tuesday night to file a motion that could allow the Senate to begin debate on healthcare next week.
