Yesterday, “Dear Colleague” letters began circulating to all Members of Congress urging President Obama to request a robust International Affairs Budget for Fiscal Year 2011.  The USGLC is very excited about the strong bipartisan support from twenty House and Senate Democrats and Republicans who are leading the letter.  The letters stress the importance of the International Affairs Budget “as part of a comprehensive U.S. effort to strengthen our national security, build economic prosperity, and uphold our humanitarian principles.” A similar letter with 217 Member signatures was sent to the President in support of a robust FY 2010 International Affairs Budget request. Make sure you take action and let your Members of Congress know how important the International Affairs Budget is!
