Ambassador At-large for Global Women’s Issues
Melanne Verveer is the first Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, a position created to better integrate the advancement of women into U.S. foreign policy. Most recently Chair and Co-CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnership, Verveer has also served as Chief of Staff to then-First Lady Hillary Clinton, where she led many White House efforts around international women’s issues. As Ambassador-at-Large, Verveer will develop, lead, and coordinate initiatives to improve the lives of women, and ensure that women’s rights are prioritized in U.S. international engagement.
