Director, U.S. Trade and Development Agency

Leocadia Zak has been nominated to serve as Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), which is responsible for advancing economic development overseas. She is currently Acting Director. Zak has worked at the agency since 2000, holding and the positions of General Counsel, Deputy Director, and Acting Director from April 2007 until March 2008.  Prior to her time at the USTDA, Zak was a lawyer in private practice, focusing on international and corporate finance, and innovative financing programs involving the U.S. government and other multilateral agencies.
