Aaron Williams leads the Peace Corps, which deploys thousands of American volunteers to host countries all over the world to support a wide variety of community development projects. As the head of one of the most recognized U.S. public diplomacy efforts, Williams is responsible for building the program and adapting it to the shifting challenges facing the world today. Williams was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, and has spent more than twenty-five years working in a variety of development positions. He achieved the rank of Career Minister in the U.S. Senior Foreign Service through his work at USAID, and has also held senior positions at the International Youth Foundation and RTI International.
