Putting Smart Power to Work: Dialogue on QDDR – October 14, 2009

On Wednesday, October 14, 2009, the USGLC hosted an interactive discussion around the State Department’s new Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review (QDDR); a blueprint of a smart power approach to U.S. foreign policy. The program began with a keynote by Deputy Secretary of State Jacob Lew, followed by a lively panel discussion and question and answer session moderated by NewsHour with Jim Lehrer Senior Correspondent Judy Woodruff. Panel discussion members also included Anne Marie Slaughter, Director of Policy and Planning at the U.S. Department of State and Alonzo Fulgham, USAID Acting Administrator.
