The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is a broad-based, nationwide coalition of businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community leaders that advocates for a strong U.S. International Affairs Budget.

Members of the USGLC – a vibrant, influential network of 400 organizations and thousands of individuals – engage policy-makers in the nation’s capital and educate the public around the country to build support for these essential programs.

The International Affairs Budget provides America with the fundamental tools to meet the global challenges of the 21st century and is critical to protecting our national security, building economic prosperity, and strengthening humanitarian values.

About the Internship

Strong applicants will have an interest in international affairs and a working knowledge of the U.S. political process.  Applicants must be willing to assist with all aspects of the USGLC, including administrative tasks.  Graduate and undergraduate internships are available.  Scheduling can be flexible to accommodate class schedules.

Interns assist in all aspects of the USGLC including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Follow-up with members for various events and legislation updates.
  • Help to maintain an updated congressional and member contact database.
  • Attend Congressional hearings and events; summarize proceedings; track legislation.
  • Assist USGLC staff in mobilizing business and humanitarian membership to communicate to U.S. Congress at key times in budget/appropriations cycle.
  • Research domestic, economic, and security impacts of America’s engagement abroad.
  • Learn about the Congressional Budget and Appropriations process, particularly as it pertains to funding America’s foreign policy initiatives.
  • Organize and help plan USGLC events in DC.
  • Assist in developing an active nationwide grassroots movement.
