On May 7, the White House released the details of its FY10 Budget request. The Administration’s $53.9 billion FY10 International Affairs Budget request, an 8.2% increase, strongly reflects the President’s commitment to elevate the “smart power” tools of diplomacy and development to address the global challenges of the 21st century. The USGLC praises the Administration’s commitment to double U.S. foreign assistance by 2015, including increases in our civilian capacity as critical to reinvigorating U.S. foreign policy.
